What are some effective ways for women to break into male-dominated industries?
It is highly worth asking for 360 feedback at every stage of your career. You can do this yourself by mapping out seniors, peers and juniors in your work and professional life. Ask them for feedback directly or use a third party coach and/ or survey tool.

What are some effective ways for women to break into male-dominated industries?
It's worth exploring industry bodies and societies who host events on the areas you are interested in. Ask people to invite you, add you to relevant groups where you access visibility to events, ideas and key mentors. After an event, make sure you go and introduce yourself to the speakers who resonated most with you and who you think you could learn from.

What are some effective ways for women to break into male-dominated industries?
There is no better way of learning than by doing. One of the key actions I have taken to break into male-dominated space, whether finance, technology or entrepreneurship, is to take one step towards your goal everyday. This could be reaching out to someone in the industry for a conversation, reading some important research, testing an idea with a peer or putting your ideas onto paper. Incremental progress build into significant progress over time.

Appreciating the huge value-add of your diversity of experience, identity, background and perspectives can bring to a male-dominated industry is a great starting point. This is highly likely to be more than just your gender. Spending time identifying all the aspects of your knowledge, network and experience that could add leverage to your profile. Working with a coach or an experienced advisor will help you clarify this in your mind and messaging to key stakeholders.
