How do you negotiate term sheets and deal structures with venture capitalists?
A really good mechanism to structure your thinking is building your investment deck. Building an investment deck is firstly for you as a founder to structure your thoughts and then to communicate and test with investors. In that deck you could have a slide on the problem you are solving, your solution, your customer and market - and your great team. Your value proposition is how your business adds value to your customers and what differentiate you from your competition. An important thing to remember is that only with being close to your customers and validating your hypothesis you could iterate your value prop. If you expect to nail it from your head to the slide you will be wrong.

What are the best practices for green marketing and branding?
There are two key principles to create a Green brand. 1. Radical transparency- if you are selling your products to customers be open of the ingredients, carbon footprint and other green consideration to selling your product. 2. Make sure that you don’t have it just as a cover up. Have sustainable as part of your company values.

What are the best tools or frameworks for strategic alignment?
The basic principle of leadership that helps alignment in big organisations is empowering others to lead. Many of the misalignment comes with the problem of management to give people the feeling they could lead and then, not letting go and trying to lead themselves. Empower people to lead, make decisions and trust them.

How do you leverage your existing customers and network to generate referrals and word-of-mouth?
One of the best mechanisms to create word of mouth customer growth is by investing in building deep and personal relationships with your customers. I work with many founders and encourage them to meet their customers, get to know them and what are their passions. I used to even have a WhatsApp groups for my early customers. I met them for coffee and that built trust. That trust is not with your business but with you as a founder. Once you build that trust, they will tell others about you and what you are building.
