The demonstration districts in the ‘lighthouse’ cities of Lisbon, London and Milan implemented replicable solutions for retrofitted buildings, shared electric mobility services, energy management systems, smart lamp posts and an urban sharing platform. The ‘fellow’ cities of Bordeaux, Burgas and Warsaw worked in partnership with the lighthouse cities on solutions that could be replicated within their own city. On top of the €24 million in seed funding from the EC Horizon 2020 programme, Sharing Cities generated €265m in further investment in the smart city marketplace.
I led the Future Cities Catapult team through a demanding phase in the project, successfully utilising service design and user-driven methodologies to rescope the specifications of the Digital Social Market' platform to meet the diverse needs of the cities. The final platform was adapted by all partner cities, demonstrating the high replication potential on a global scale.Other creators -
