    We support a project called cricket evolution to enable the building of an indoor cricket centre for the general public to reach out to more kids who dont always get captured through the main county and National network. WBS Group and myself believe this to be a great cause for both local community and the Minor counties in general

  • Full transformation and rescue of a large healthcare supplier

    -

    Rescued a 180 square feet warehouse after it had fallen over following a failed merger. Managed the rescue and redesign of the facility and steered the supply chain through covid
    Reduced headcount from an initial 180 to 80 in a year and established 90% availability of stock from an initial 34% measured during the initial assessment. Put on the table £2m working capital opportunity and shut down overflow warehouses capitalising on 300k worth of transport and steerage costs.

    Managed and delivered a review of a Private Equity owned Major DIY retailer which led to a programme, which delivered the re-design of a 120,000 square metre distribution centre and a redefinition of the various inbound and outbound networks. The programme created 25% increase in picking and storage capacity, productivity savings of €1.2M and a new WMS and order management system which with a full change of stock policy helped reduce working capital by 20%.     6. Full inventory policy established using 9 bar matrix and variability study of true demand
    7. ABC and improved slotting reducing movements by half
    8. Established cross docking operation
    9 full WMS and order management system implemented - completed ITT and established a best of breed solution
    10. Fully modelled 10 year scenario strategy to clearly understand capacity throughput and storage breaking points - including seasonal planning and peak week plans
    11. New automated goods to man solution designed for small slower moving parts - including spiral decent system and newly defined consolidation point

  • Design, refurbish and Build out of 1M sqft Distribution for Premier foods

    A time challenging re-design, refurbish and build out project in which I was the programme manager. Project was a re-structure of an existing series of old sheds into a modern high throughput picking facility. Seven sites were consolidated into one. Managed all the suppliers, IT changes, rack-out designs, pick face designs, conveyor solutions, gravity fed rack installations, 5S style best practice established with full set of procedures and processes defined, written, trained and installed…

Deadlines were tight due to supermarket demands and planning was critical especially with the build out of the 2 extensions. Introduced a Lean collaboration approach especially with the building contractors

Plan was handed over to site leadership and supported the operation and its running until Dec 2016 as strategic advisor to site team. Site transformation team kept the operation in continuity during some very difficult times.
