About

As a commercially aware creative content and marketing specialist and a First Class Fashion Buying and Marketing De Montfort University graduate; I have a wealth of experience in social media, content creation, creative direction, PR, fashion marketing, styling and branding.

Working in both a large Unicorn business at Gymshark and a medium sized brand at Curvy Kate, I understand both how to follow the necessary processes to bring a brand campaign to life, whilst also gaining the opportunity to work across multiple disciplines in a smaller business and collectively problem solve to reach the optimum outcome.

I am a highly motivated individual who loves personal development including competing in fitness events, running and outdoor adventure activities including skiing. Excited by fitness, I also run my own blog where I have worked as an affiliate for brands including the Co-Operative and Charlotte Tilbury.

I had the opportunity to work with fashion supplier Raised On Denim and style their recent portfolio shoot to showcase their latest denim and jersey collections for Boohoo, ASOS, Urban Outfitters and Topshop/Topman. Working with the Photographer and Womenswear Account Manager, I styled the photoshoot to create Gen-Z inspired streetwear looks. The brief centred around creating individual, edgy and cool looks to align with the customer base and to encourage client growth through the diversity of products and looks on offer. Therefore I created 24 different outfit builds to capture all of the new products that needed to be shot whilst ensuring the key fashion clients were considered when styling the outfits. Whilst working with Raised On Denim I produced moodboards and outfit builds relevant to recent street wear trends and presented these ideas to their Account Manager. This opportunity allowed me to collaborate with an established fashion supplier to produce content that would be seen by an array of Fashion Buyers within the industry. Therefore it was pivotal that I was organised, collaborated professionally, had an attention for detail mindset and was commercially aware.

My key responsibilities included assisting the Senior Creatives with moodboarding and concept creation which would then lead to presentations to the Heads of Campaign and the Chief Brand Officer. After the concepts were signed off I was then responsible for scouting locations and models and arranging set builds with the Production team as well as styling on shoot days and both art/video directing the models on set whilst working with the Social, Photo and Video Teams to ensure all of the content was captured.

My experience at Gymshark enabled me to strengthen my communication skills when presenting ideas and collaborating with different stakeholders. As well as reinforcing my commercial awareness in terms of creative concepts/ design as well as social media. Spending a year at Gymshark allowed me to gain real confidence in my creative approach from set and fashion styling, working closely with models and photographers as well as taking responsibility for campaigns and working professionally as an art director.

During my time at Ted Baker on the Menswear Buying team, I had the opportunity to gain a further understanding into how the buying office operates within the fashion industry and strengthen my commercial awareness. Whilst at Ted Baker, I shadowed the Menswear BA during Monday morning commentary of trading reports to distinguish the best and worst sellers. I was then able to highlight the variance on last years sales and compare the weeks trading with both the plan and forecasted sales. Additionally, I helped to set up trade meetings, pulling menswear garments, helped with wardrobe and setting up buys in accordance to the range plan and store grading. I also had the opportunity to attend a mens swimwear fit session with Garment Technologists, Buyers and Merchandisers as well as create buy pack presentations for sign off for formal menswear, shirts and jackets. Work experience at Ted Baker was invaluable in allowing me to further understand how Buyers and Merchandisers work collaboratively to sign off a range and gain insight into the fashion process from a Buyer's perspective to better help in future with design and styling roles.

The experience also allowed me to attend international photoshoots and PR events, fit sessions and create promotional material by the means of video campaigns. As Nuevo Club's fashion assistant I also filmed and created behind the scenes content for their social channels, scouted models and set locations for shoot days, as well as created outfit builds and styled the models on set whilst communicating with the photographer/ videographer to ensure all of the images were captured. It was essential that during this role I was able to adapt, learn and quickly respond to the fast paced environment of fashion. I also broadened my skills on Adobe Photoshop to create promotional material for digital marketing purposes whilst also writing blogs, social media scheduling, carrying out market research and learning about google analytics and search engine rankings. During my time at Nuevo Club I also had the opportunity to visit PI: Live in London, an influencer marketing conference to gain insight into digital marketing in the modern age of social media.

This is a competition for young entrepreneurs and inventors to showcase their design ideas and skills. This provides excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate the practical and commercial application of their designs against the best within the whole of our district. Entries are judged on their innovation and practical attributes.
Open to all schools and colleges within Rotary District 1070, the competition is based around the design coursework curriculum for GCSE and A/S level student projects in Textiles, Resistant Materials (wood, metal, plastic), graphics and electronics, however this competition is not judged on the same criteria as GCSE or A level.
The entry expectation is for a physical model or design piece to be exhibited with a limited amount of concept design and research paperwork. The judges will not have time to review extensive research material, they are looking for an imaginative unique concept that demonstrates a student’s ability and understanding to design innovatively.
