You want to develop problem-solving skills through volunteering. How can you get started?
I'm a strong advocate of spotting a gap and creating your own initiative. At the beginning of this year, we got tired of seeing so much litter on our walk to school so I enlisted my daughter to set up a litter picking volunteering group at her local school. We brought together 20 members ina matter of days. Steps taken (which can be replicated with several other ideas): ideation, planning with ChatGPT, gathering volunteers through WhatsApp communities, formalising event/meet up invite using Dall-E and Canva, (optional) creating loyalty cards, turning up at event, scheduling future events and tracking impact.
