My role included forecasting; designing; overseeing product development; travel for research, fabric and trim sourcing; building the brand through p.o.s. marketing and branding. I was also very involved with press show direction and presenting trend information to the buying and merchandising teams.

Managing graphic designers, junior designers and design assistants, I was resposnsible for the development of team members.

I learnt strong influencing skills through working with a pressurised buying team and gained the ability to push design to the fore. Building good relationships with suppliers and other departments within the business, I helped build the profile, image and success of the Red Herring brand, which grew under my design-led influence.

I am immensely proud to have chaired the Actually board, helping co-ordinate the chorus' activities within the LGBTQ+ community as well as their duties as a hard-working and accomplished group of singers. Brighton & Hove Actually Gay Men's Chorus is a well-established and committed chorus and we have a close bond that works to strengthen the voice of the LGBTQ+ community in the city.

Brighton & Hove Actually Gay Men's Chorus is a well-established and committed chorus and we have a close bond that works to strengthen the voice of the LGBTQ+ community in the city.
Under my tenure, the committee and directors navigated COVID-19 and we did our best to continue being there for our members during a period that would test our mental health. When we were able and permitted to, we enabled rehearsals and performances in person once more, after conducing risk assessments and putting in place suitable protections for members. I'm extremely proud that we engaged with the charity MindOUT to provide a mental health awareness presentation and discussion, which surfaced some of the challenges LGBTQ+ people face. I'm very happy to say I still sing with the chorus.
