Here's how you can excel in a public speaking career by being adaptable.
It's crucial that you stay current in almost all professions, especially with the current pace of technology. Here are the 3 things I do to stay current - 1) I read all relevant trade titles, on a weekly basis. 2) I set up key word alerts on Google to ensure I am aware of all the latest developments in the area I operate, AdTech. 3) I task myself with writing and publishing blogs, this means I am constantly researching, and testing my knowledge of the growing AdTech ecosystem.

Here's how you can excel in a public speaking career by being adaptable.
There are several things you can do to engage an audience when speaking publicly. 1) Try to incorporate videos & images in your presentation. Audiences can be lost very quickly in long, text heavy presentations. 2) Move, motion creates emotion, if you have the ability to, try to walk on stage when presenting as it helps to calm any nerves, and an animated presenter can often build a stronger rapport with audiences. 3) Pitch, pace & pause - Ensure your speaking style is natural and warm, audiences lean into these types of speakers and don't want to see somebody reading from slides, that want to see somebody talking about the presentation, not reading from it etc.

What do you do if your feedback to senior leaders is not being well-received?
Deconstruct the complex, if your message is failing to land with senior leadership, explain the opportunity cost in a clear and concise way that resonates with their goals and OKRs. 1) Clearly articulate the opportunity if this challenge is overcome. 2) Provide examples that illustrate positive business outcomes. 3) Ensure you are providing feedback at a point in time when your leadership team will be receptive and engaged, ideally in person rather than via slack etc.
