    Science and Technology

Worked independently as the online supervisor of two classes of KS3 pupils undertaking a project about exoplanets.

Responsible for monitoring their progress, assisting them with any problems they faced, and answering any questions they had, developing my leadership and support abilities.

Conveyed challenging scientific concepts hitherto unseen by the students, and wrote regular blogs about various exciting topics, aiming to inspire a passion that would lead on to further study.

Honors & Awards

  • Honorary Diploma: Best poster presentation at Symposium H

Committee of Crystallography of the Polish Academy of Sciences

Honorary Diploma to Robert M. Forrest for the best poster presentation at Symposium H of E-MRS 2021 Fall Meeting, in the field of crystallography, given under the auspices of the Committee of Crystallography of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the work by Robert M. Forrest and A. Lindsay Greer: "Evolutionary design of machine-learning predicted bulk metallic glasses"

  • Gold CREST Award

    British Science Association

Developed a solution to a real world computing problem faced by a large company (Northern Gas Networks), writing a C# program to extract information from a large dataset, then display it in a user friendly way. Produced a comprehensive report detailing and evaluating my work, which was integrated into a larger team report. Presented my work to a panel of experts and professionals, and fielded their questions. Represented my college on a national level as part of the Engineering Education…

Produced a comprehensive report detailing and evaluating my work, which was integrated into a larger team report. Presented my work to a panel of experts and professionals, and fielded their questions. Represented my college on a national level as part of the Engineering Education Scheme, achieving an above average result.

  • v100 Award

    vInspired

Certifies that I volunteered a total of 100 hours, using my skills and talents to make a difference. Preceded by the v50 and v10 awards, given for volunteering 50 and 10 hours respectively.

  • Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Bronze

    HRH The Duke of Edinburgh

Worked as part of a team of five to plan an expedition route completable within two days. Coordinated navigation from start to finish, demonstrating leadership and communication skills. Programmed a simple computer game in C# for the skills component, making use of the Microsoft XNA libraries.
