During my time studying English at The University of Southampton I developed a particular interest in ‘Structualist’ and ‘Post-structualist’ literary theory. I expanded my understanding of these areas through consideration of their relationship to literary texts of all genres, particularly the dystopian novel, and used my 8000 word dissertation project to discuss the parallels between these theories and George Orwell’s own ideas about language. -
