    It was an interesting transitional period for the school and consequently a focus on activities such as Combined Cadet Force and an active Expedition Club involving rock climbing and canoeing was all that was offered in our first few terms .

    It soon became apparent that further options were needed to make this more suitable .

    Working alongside the regular police officers we were involved in all aspects of policing in St Albans including general patrolling, event management, arrests, interviewing and the relevant paperwork.

    My time here opened my eyes to a much broader understanding of the community and the challenges that existed . This was during the time of IRA bombings and St Albans was also renowned for a City with the highest number of pubs , which meant very busy weekends .
