Graduate Practicum - American University/World Resources Institute

See projectThe practicum was a partnership between American University and the World Resources Institute's International Financial Flows and the Environment Program.
I developed a case study of the Ok Tedi mine in Papua New Guinea and provided an analysis of the management and technical failures of the Broken Hill Proprietary mining company that allowed the Ok Tedi River to be polluted beyond remediation. I then provided corrective actions and "Best Practices" that other companies could take that…The practicum was a partnership between American University and the World Resources Institute's International Financial Flows and the Environment Program.
I developed a case study of the Ok Tedi mine in Papua New Guinea and provided an analysis of the management and technical failures of the Broken Hill Proprietary mining company that allowed the Ok Tedi River to be polluted beyond remediation. I then provided corrective actions and "Best Practices" that other companies could take that would permit them to avoid social tension and environmental damage.
The Practicum culminated in a presentation of my case study in Beijing with Chinese officials, businessmen, students, and other members of the AU/WRI IFFE practicum team
