You're navigating stakeholder priorities and a product roadmap. How can you strike the perfect balance?
It really depends on who the stakeholders are, whether they have different business objectives and/or priorities and what denotes success. For example, if prioritisation is across a number of business areas, each with their own commercial or operational objectives, it may be worthwhile taking more of an agnostic approach using a prioritisation score-carding method, such as "PIE" (potential; impact; effort/ease) or "RICE" (reach; impact; confidence; effort) or similar. This will drive out the genuine business priorities, rather than priorities being informed as a result of "who shouts the loudest" getting their way.
