British people on average sit at their desks for 8.9 hours every day, studies have suggested that those sitting for more than seven hours a day, there is a 5% increased risk of premature death with each additional hour off their feet. Other complications include being more than twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. We understand, that with busy working commitments not every one has the time, or energy to think about being active. This is why we aim to do this for you, encouraging staff members to take the opportunity to become more active by taking part in our events, and providing healthy food options.

Since December, every Wednesday we have produced and sold fruit smoothies in both the Leeds and Manchester offices. We have also coordinated a Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. This is due to take place 20 February 2016 and currently has over 50 people signed up to take part. In preparation for this event, we have created our own running club that takes place during lunch hour. We have done all this with a seed funding of £750, whilst maintaining our full-time working commitments, all in the name of charity

This one week furthered my thirst to be part of the legal system. It is something that I do wish to return to.
