Over the years, I dedicated myself to the cadet program, steadily progressing through the ranks until I achieved the highest rank of Company Sergeant Major within D Company (East Sussex). My journey included completing the syllabus, attaining the prestigious Master Cadet award, and achieving my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.

During this time, I also took on the role of a mentor, guiding and supporting younger cadets as they embarked on their own cadet journeys. My passion for the organisation was so profound that I made the decision to return as an instructor more than five years ago.

In my role as an instructor, I have had the privilege of supporting various detachments and furthering my own professional development by completing advanced instructors training and a skill at arms instructors course with the Army. This experience has allowed me to delve into skills and responsibilities vastly different from my day job. Teaching and nurturing the development of young cadets has been immensely rewarding, and I relish the opportunity to give back to an organisation that has given me so much throughout my life.
