I gave Latin Dancing a go to as ballroom dancing has always been something that has fascinated me. As one can imagine, the first couple sessions were nerve wracking, but the more I did it, the more relaxed I became. Now at least I won't be lost for dance moves when the time calls for it!

Students in Classrooms is a programme run by both universities in Nottingham, which I took part in during the first year of university. A greater explanation of this can be found under the 'experience' section of my profile. In order to promote the programme, I went to different lecture halls at the beginning of my second year to give 10 minute presentations to first year students, which included my own personal anecdotes.

In order to improve my language skills, I decided to take part in events aimed at international students, which ended up being a lot of fun. I made many new friends from different places and I am often asked to read through theses and check for grammatical mistakes. Show less

I represented college during open evenings and on the football team and in the choir. I also took part in international trips abroad to both France and Germany to improve spoken language skills.

It was a one-on-one process whereby she could tell me whatever she wanted and I tried to guide, assist or improve her situation. Despite leaving secondary school, I still offer advice to another girl I used to look after and correspond with her via text.
