We are looking for a Field Service Engineer (SIP) to join our team in the UK, where you will work at the forefront of advanced X-ray technology. The team is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing Varex Imaging Security & Inspection Products to the highest standards, as well as instructing customers in their operation and maintenance.


This position requires fluency in English, as you will work both autonomously and in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Alongside your interest in technology and eagerness to learn as we continue to develop our high-tech solutions, this position offers an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills in the latest electronics technology.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Install, service, and maintain Varex Imaging Security & Inspection Products.
  • Provide technical assistance on-site and by phone to customers, ensuring high-quality performance worldwide.
  • Be flexible with extensive local and international travel, sometimes with little notice.


What We're Looking For

  • Graduate of a technical institute or university in electronics or equivalent field service experience.
  • Background in RF and PLC controls.
  • Basic all-around knowledge of electronic, electrical, and mechanical components and applications.
  • Expertise in reacting and troubleshooting efficiently and logically under pressure and at short notice.
  • Ability to interface, communicate, and train customers.
  • Ability to collaborate within a multi-cultural and worldwide team.
  • Willingness to accept key roles and responsibilities within the Territory Service Team as requested.
  • Basic understanding of logistical processes; familiarity with SAP is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in operating an oscilloscope, DVM, and reading schematics; PLC logic programming is also an advantage.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment procedures; Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) certification is an advantage.
  • Professional and tactful demeanor; willingness to travel extensively and work at short notice and outside standard hours as required to support customers/products.
