🚨A Dutch impact #investor, which manages assets worth around €4.2 billion ($4.7bn), has announced a decision to divest from the #fashion industry due to #sustainability concerns🚨 ASN Impact Investors has put a halt on investments in companies including H&M, Inditex, ASICS and VF Corporation, saying that none of them meet its newly tightened investment policies. 📣The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has withdrawn its opposition to a landmark US bill to implement an extended producer responsibility framework and ramp up #textile #recycling in #California📣 Bill SB-707, also known as the ‘Responsible Textile Recovery Act of 2024’, aims to establish a robust EPR programme that will require producers to implement and fund a programme to facilitate the reuse, repair, and recycling of #clothing and #textile fibres in the US state. 📍Bangladesh is missing out on up to $5 billion a year in potential revenue from #recycled #textile products, according to a new report. ⚠️Swedish #fashion giant H&M has updated its agreement with the IndustriALL Global Union and the Swedish trade union IF Metall to protect the interests of more than one million #garment workers⚠️ It says the updated global framework agreement marks a new level of commitment to the rights of garment workers in around 1,000 factories across H&M Group’s supply chain.
