I can not express how amazing the customer service response time is.

I had an issue with access to my account- less than 24 hours later I was on the phone with Xero customer service rep Matt who walked me through the steps to fix my account within an hour. I can not express how amazing the customer service response time is. Truly impressing considering how many users use this service and there being no support number. Again, shoutout to Matt for his great work and personality!

Not bad but invoicing set up is awful

Xero use to be incredibly easy to use, but the new invoicing set up is awful. It makes it 10 times harder to use. Really wish they would revert back to the old style. Other than that, it’s relatively user friendly, and has all the functions you would expect/need out of an accounting programme.

Great and quick support

I logged a website query and couldn't get the issue resolved with the first reply. I replied again and a Xero consultant called me during a timeslot I could choose, which made it very convenient for me, and sorted out the issue for me.

People mass negative reviewing

Xero is great. New invoicing is great. Choosing to add a review as I found out people with to much time on their hands have decided to mass negative review because they cant be bothered taking the time to get used to the new invoicing.

Just been forced to use the new Invoice…

Just been forced to use the new Invoice layout. What a load of utter rubbish, designed by a developer no less, the old one was clean, simple and clear.
This one is badly designed, clunky, overtly complicated, pointless functionality (now two click to select and invoice date) and general a step back, gave 3 stars as the rest is a good package but this aspect is appalling, I am glad in our business we do very few invoices.
I am posting this with over 40 years in IT and software design so I do know a bit!

Start Listening Xero

I was introduced to Xero in 2019 and found it user friendly and a good all round accounting package. However, one feature I use is customer Invoicing. Xero have changed the layout and facility of this feature from one that was working to one with less features and call it upgrading - this is frustrating a lot of Xero users!!! What's worst is the amount of unhappy Xero customers asking Xero to leave the classic option as is as the new version is not user friendly but Xero is not listening.
Due to the lack of support and unmoving IT developers in Xero not listening to this request amoungst others, a lot of customers are moving to other packages.
Xero need to sit up and not putting their heads in the sand. Replace those in position that are just twiggling at their desks and get IT people who know what works and listens to their customers who use the product on a daily basis!

"Upgrades" are downgrades - Avoid

Virtually every update & change makes Xero worse. It used to be quite good several years ago.
The current awfulness is their "New Invoicing" - which is slower, clunkier, buggy and has less functionality. Every common task in the "New Invoicing" takes more clicks or simply cannot be done.
Plus we (the users) are being forced to test this half baked monstrosity, rather than Xero releasing a complete product.
And they are trying to annoy us into using this new system by defaulting to it every day.

Increasingly Unreliable

Despite price increases with promises for a better product, Xero has not delivered! Xero has never been so unreliable as it has been the last 6 months with regular outages and all around slow performance. The introduction of the new invoicing is the icing on the cake to look for an alternative Cloud Accounting platform for some of our cleints. Xero are intent to ignore customer feedback.

Once the Subscriber issue was explained, the Xero support consultant solved what for us was a very delicate situation. They were focused, discreet and quick. Just what was needed.

Listen to your customers Xero!

Xero has gone from a 5 star product to a 3 star product in recent years and I feel I'm being generous with a 3! Really unhappy with the new sales invoicing which is not fit for purpose. Xero are replacing a good product with inferior with promises that it will improve. It should not be put forward on the platform until it is indeed an improved version of what we already had. There have been various 'improvements' made to justify frequent price increases and I am yet to see any benefit from these so called improvements. Very disappointing that Xero are not listening to their customers who I expect will vote with their feet.

XERO has a less-than-zero approach to…

XERO has a less-than-zero approach to customer service. For small ubsinesses these failures are more than frustrating they are DANGEROUS. We can not untangle the broken link between XERO and our tax filing from the account. The result is that thousands in penalties are being charged and no solution can be found. There is no way to get anyone from XERO to give a damn. It is shameful and I think a joint action by the customers to end this state of affairs is needed. It is clear that the user journey on Xero Central is DESIGNED to spit you out and force you back to your accountant when anything goes wrong. This has taken already 3 weeks to figure out that they are not going to do anything while charging 40% more than last year. A single email or call would resolve it.
SEPT 10th. XERO Actually lookedinto the case more deeply and got back after I wrote this review.....and they were right about hte problem definition...but by then we had fixed that bit ourselves. In the meantime they also took on the bank feeds issue that I raised a long time ago and are trying to make it work. A thumbs up on effort from me. Moved them to a 3 from a 2.

Working in Xero since 2015. Loved it until the last updates! The new invoicing is horrible, ugly designed, and unfunctional. The way Xero responds to multiple users' complaints about the new invoicing is offensive. Despite all the talk, Xero just forced this rubbish on users and increased the price. I would like to stay with Xero but am seriously considering alternatives now.

Unhappy with new invoicing

I'm really unhappy with the new invoicing. We are a high sales business - many invoices per day. The extra time it is taking in the new invoicing layout to get things done is crazy.
I've seen some other comments saying people like me are complaining about nothing - their problem is because they cant be bother learning a new system.
That is far from the truth. We implement new software or processes all the time across our business. But, only if it is of benefit. Makes life easier, or is safer, or will save the business money.
This new invoicing by Xero does none of those things. Takes longer, we are getting invoices out to customer that are wrong due to software gremlins, and we are paying more of this product then we previously were.

We are looking at other software options. But I don’t think Xero cares. We must be in the minority of uses or something.

Xero USED to be streets ahead!

Xero used to be streets ahead and a fantastic program. Unfortunately over the last year or so they have started changing the layouts and ways to do things - most of those changes being for the worse - the latest being the invoicing, which is terrible now.
Used to recommend, no longer would

Use the old invoicing!!!

I have used it for over 10 years but the latest “upgrade” on the invoicing is pushing me to breaking point.

It can be a great tool and has saved me lots of time over the years, but the change in invoicing has made it unusable. Really thinking about a move to QuickBooks.

I truly hope Xero see sense and stop the pointless change in invoicing
