System and storage
Additional disks
You can add one or more disks to increase the storage space available on your servers. Our cloud storage solutions can be resized at any time. See Block Storage
Boot from Block Storage
By coupling your instances with the Block Storage service, you can boot your instances on these additional volumes by deploying the system on this space.
Local SSD disks
The disks powering Public Cloud instances are based on SSD technology, offering exceptional read/write performance.
Choice of operating system

Automate your backups
To secure your instances, you can schedule automatic backups every night, for example.
Backup your instances
Your instances’ disks can be backed up and exported to a different cluster to be reused later. Your sensitive data is protected. See Instance Backup
Unlimited snapshots
As with all instances, you can trigger a live snapshot at any time. This will replicate the state of your system disk on a dedicated space, so that you can restore it as it is later.
Rebuild an instance
To start from scratch on an instance while keeping its original configuration, the rebuild mode allows you to reset the operating system instead of the instance.
Billing and flexibility
Flexible servers
Our servers are delivered in a few seconds and billed hourly. You can also modify the instance power, depending on usage.
Monthly billing at 50% off.
You can choose monthly billing for your servers. This gives you an even more advantageous price (50% discount on the hourly price).
Flexible
By choosing the “flexible” option, you can increase or decrease the size of your instance at any time. You can even switch to a different family of instances, e.g. from a b3-64 model to a c3-128.
Cost optimization
When you will not need an instance for a while, it is a good idea to use the "shelve" function, which hibernates the instance and reduces costs.
Delivery and deployment
Receive your instance in seconds. You can deploy it via the OVHcloud Control Panel or your automation tools, using our APIs, Terraform provider or CLI.
Configuration and network
Anti-DDoS
The network is protected by OVHcloud's powerful anti-DDoS system. All your instances benefit from this protection at no extra cost.
Instance customization
Your instances can run startup scripts when cloud-init is enabled in the operating system. This means you can customize any cloud server deployment.
Configuration disk
Start an instance by transferring files or variables that will be injected into the operating system. This feature is very useful for automating your deployments.
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Manage your access to OVHcloud services independently, using the IAM service. Consolidate your authentication system and scale up your access management with OVHcloud services.
Accessing the KVM console
The server’s virtual console is available directly through your browser, for all actions that cannot be performed via the network.
Flexible network connection
You can create networks and network ports on demand and attach instances while running (hot add). It is also possible to have multiple connections on the same instance. See Private Network
Private and secure connection

IP and BYOIP addresses
With each instance, you get a public IP address available. You can also add additional IP addresses or port your range of IPs with the Bring your own IP (BYOIP) services.
Instance protection
The lock function allows you to lock any action on the instance. Only the owner of the instance will be able to act on it, which allows you to work as a team, with complete peace of mind.
