A Generation Defined by War: Ukraine's Decade-long Struggle 
“I first heard explosions in April 2014,” says Anton, reflecting on the start of his displacement journey a decade ago. “There were more and more of them as time went on. I left Donetsk in July 2014, the day after my 25th birthday. Anton Vaskovskyi was uprooted from his hometown, after escaping the relentless hostilities in eastern Ukraine. Creating job opportunities:

Mental health: Art-based psychosocial sessions and support groups for displaced persons help them cope with emotions and trauma. Read on 

Inter-agency convoy: IOM, as part of two inter-agency convoys, delivered humanitarian aid to Kurakhove in Donetsk region and to Bilyi Kolodiaz in Kharkiv region.

Non-food items distribution: More than 5,500 displaced persons from Mariupol received winterisation kits, kitchen sets, mattresses, thermoses, solar lamps, and blankets. Read on 

Improving living conditions for IDPs: Upon request from the Starobilsk community, IOM assisted nearly 1,600 people displaced from the Luhansk region. Read on

Cash assistance: 14 collective centres is Mykolaiv and Sumy received support to conduct repairs, upgrade heating stations and install new windows or doors. 

Boosting small businesses: With support from an IOM grant, Dmytro has improved the production conditions for his eco-friendly business. Watch video
