When it comes to picking the “Mount Rushmore” of Washington players, it’s no easy task. Some fans might be partial to players from the 2016 or 2023 teams that made runs to the College Football Playoff, while others who remember Washington’s national championship victory in 1991 might choose players from that era or even further back.
On Thursday, Washington’s social media team put out a call for fans to reply with their four greatest players in school history and got back some exceptional responses.
With decades of standouts on the field and plenty of elite coaches too, the nominees varied from Don James to Steve Emtman to Michael Penix Jr. One thing is for sure, Washington’s Mount Rushmore is full of winners, no matter what.
