Disney Opens Up Its Toon Vault with New 'Disney Animated' App

Disney Interactive has launched the “Disney Animatedapp that provides users access to the art and technology behind all 53 of the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ films.

The app, available through Apple’s App Store for $13.99, was created with Touch Press, behind “The Elements” and “Barefoot World Atlas,” working closely with Disney’s animators, artists and technicians.

Disney Animated” was designed as a tool to enable users to dive deep into the animation production process, through interactive activities adapted from the actual tools Disney animators use, the companies said.

Through “Disney Animated,” users can examine artwork and get first looks at footage, concept art, animation tests and visual effects from the upcoming film “Frozen,” for example.
