Grammy, Oscar and Emmy winner H.E.R. will perform the U.S. national anthem at the Olympics closing ceremony in Paris on Sunday.
The five-time Grammy winner will be singing at the Stade de France as the Paris Olympics comes to a close and the handover to LA28 begins.
H.E.R will join iconic French bands Phoenix and Air, who are set to be a part of the ceremony. The event’s executive director Thierry Reboul told Variety, “Today, where we look at the history of music, it’s certainly the French music style and the artists behind it, who have had the biggest resonance in the world. So it was important for us to acknowledge it.”

As Variety previously reported, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are expected to be a part of the closing ceremony, performing from L.A.

The event is titled “Records” and will be hosted indoors on the 2,800 square meter stage of the Stade de France. The closing ceremony promises “new interpretations” and will “take spectators on a journey through time, both past and future,” organizers stated. The show will chart milestones throughout the history of the Olympic Games.
Team USA announced that gold medal swimmer and 14-time medalist Katie Ledecky and rower Nick Mead will be the flag bearers for the United States.
Paris Olympics artistic director Thomas Jolly, the mastermind behind Celine Dion’s emotional return to the stage, will lead the performances and choreography on Aug. 11.
Tom Cruise will also be making a daredevil stunt appearance. The appearance is expected to be one of the highlights of the closing ceremony.
