Skye Townsend, who starred in HBO variety series “A Black Lady Sketch Show” alongside comics Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black and Gabrielle Dennis among others, has been upped to series regular on CBS’ “The Neighborhood.”

The sitcom follows a white Midwestern family who moves into a predominately Black neighborhood in Pasadena, Calif. The show, which is entering its seventh season this fall, returns Oct. 21 on the Eye network. It stars Max Greenfield, Cedric the Entertainer, Beth Behrs and more.

Townsend plays Courtney, Marty Butler’s (Marcel Spears) partner, exploring co-parenting life. She is described as “very smart, very cool, very outgoing” with a sense of humor. “Courtney worked with Marty at JPL and he’s recently hired her as an electrical engineer at The Fuse Box. A year ago, they hooked up, and now Marty and Courtney are parents of a beautiful baby girl. But even though they’re devoted co-parents, they have made it very clear that they are not a couple.”
