Britney Spears

Britney Spears (born December 8, 1981) is an American singer. Her career began when she appeared as a cast member on "The Mickey Mouse Club" from 1993 to 1994, alongside Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling. In 1997, she signed with Jive Records, and released her first single, "...Baby One More Time," in 1998. It went on to become one of the best-selling singles of all time. The album of the same name, released in 1999, spawned hits "(You Drive Me) Crazy" and "Sometimes." She's since released seven more albums, including 2000's "Oops! ...I Did It Again" and 2008's "Circus."

Spears' personal life has been the subject of much tabloid scrutiny. In January 2004, she married Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas, but the marriage was annulled 55 hours later. That same year, she married dancer Kevin Federline, with whom she had two children: Sean Preston and Jayden James. Spears and Federline filed for divorce in 2006. In 2007, Spears checked herself into a drug rehabilitation center. Upon her departure, she famously shaved her head with a pair of electric clippers. In 2008, she was committed to a psychiatric ward and placed under a court-ordered conservatorship led by her father, Jamie Spears. In 2019, the online #FreeBritney movement began to pick up widespread attention, with fans calling for the end of the conservatorship. Spears addressed the court during her legal battle, calling the arrangement "abusive." In November 2021, the conservatorship was terminated. In the subsequent months, Spears began to release music, including "Hold Me Closer" with Elton John and "Mind Your Business" with Will.I.Am. Spears married model and actor Sam Asghari in 2022; Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023, citing irreconcilable differences.
