The Bachelor (TV Series)

"The Bachelor" reality TV series was created by Mike Fleiss in 2002, with the simple premise: What if a collection of eligible women were sequestered in a mansion together while they all competed for the love of one man, aka the Bachelor? Week after week, the Bachelor would eliminate his suitors by handing out roses at the now legendary rose ceremony. The show sparked several spinoffs including “The Bachelorette” which premiered in 2003; “The Bachelor Pad” in 2010 which reunited fan favorite contestants to compete for both love and money and “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2014 which also reunited beloved eliminated contestants, but this time they would just be competing for love while in a resort in Mexico. The reality TV show also inspired a few scripted dramas including the acclaimed 2015 series “Unreal,” created by Marti Noxon and former producer on “The Bachelor” Sarah Gertrude Shapiro. "The Bachelor" was hosted by Chris Harrison for 25 seasons, until he exited the show in 2021 and was replaced by former Bachelor contestant Jesse Palmer. In 2021 Fleiss exited the series after 21 years as the showrunner.
