BROCKTON, MA — Jack Fitzgerald andSam Hill both had two runs scored and two RBI to lead the Brockton Rox to a 10-4 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters in Futures League action Friday night at Campanelli Stadium.
After a three-day layoff, the Lake Monsters got an RBI single in the top of the first inning from Eric Jeon (Columbia), but the Rox quickly scored three times in the bottom of the first including a Hill two-run single.
Vermont got a run back in the top of the second on a Dylan Watson (Colby Sawyer) RBI single before Fitzgerald smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the inning for a 5-2 Rox advantage. Brockton (3-2) added a run in third, two in fourth and two more in eighth for a 10-2 lead.
Jeon closed out the scoring in the ninth with a two-run single to cap off his three-hit, three-RBI night for the Lake Monsters (3-2).
