  • "What happens to your knowledge if you're hit by a bus tomorrow?" 🚍 How can you be less selfish and more giving? It was 2019, and I was sitting across from my mentor in Singapore when he asked me this question. I did not get this question at first glance but soon his words hit me like a ton of bricks. He wasn't asking about my work with companies; he was asking about people— individuals who might never meet me but could benefit from my knowledge. How could I help them? — The companies who don't have a budget to hire me and my team, how can they do it themselves? Then he followed up with another question that changed everything: "Why don't you make the workforce breakthrough strategy and build it like a toolbox, accessible to everyone?" That was the spark. The beginning of a journey that led me to write "100x Business Workforce." When I started, I knew it would be hard. But the reality? It was 1000 times harder than I ever imagined. I spent over 5000+ hours writing, revising, and going through 14 editorial review sessions. My second realization? Knowing what to do is one thing; putting it in the right order, with actionable steps that someone else can follow, is a completely different challenge. But here's the biggest lesson I learned through this process: The right question at the right time can change everything. My mentor’s questions forced me to think beyond the present, to consider the impacts of my work. Yes, his fees were steep, but the value I gained from those sessions? Priceless. It wasn't just about knowledge — it was about transformation. And that's the true impact of a great mentor. To anyone reading this, remember: the right question at the right time could be the key to unlocking your greatest potential. Sometimes, all it takes is a single conversation to change the course of your life. So, what's the right question you need to ask yourself today? The priority access list for 100x Business Workforce book with bonus is still open, so if you have not joined yet, let's join now, as it will take only 3 minutes on this link - https://lnkd.in/gytNMQPj #Mentorship #Legacy #Leadership #100xBusinessWorkforce #johnmasudparvez #author

  • "The longer I stay at my desk, the more valuable I can create" One of the biggest misunderstandings in this modern age. A pivotal conversation with a mentor changed my perspective. That taught me that the real value lies not in the hours worked but in how effectively you use them. Since then, I’ve embraced three powerful techniques that have significantly increased my productivity and effectiveness as a senior leader: Prioritize Ruthlessly: I remember a time when my days were filled with endless meetings and urgent requests. It felt like I was constantly firefighting. One day, I decided to start my mornings by listing my top three priorities. I vividly recall a project where I identified that focusing on strategic planning, rather than getting lost in minor tasks, led to a breakthrough that saved us months of work. Prioritizing ruthlessly has since become my daily habit, ensuring I address what truly matters first. Delegate Strategically: I was convinced that if I didn’t do everything myself, things might fall through the cracks. This changed during a critical product launch when I realized I couldn’t handle every detail alone. I entrusted key tasks to team members based on their strengths, and the project’s success was a testament to their capabilities. This experience taught me that empowering others not only lightens my load but also drives collective success. Block Time for Deep Work: There was a period when my calendar was packed with back-to-back meetings, leaving no room for focused work. I found myself scrambling to complete high-priority tasks outside office hours. I then implemented dedicated blocks of time for deep work. One instance was preparing a major presentation—allocating uninterrupted time allowed me to craft a compelling and impactful presentation, leading to its successful approval. This practice has since become essential for tackling complex and strategic tasks. These techniques have transformed how I work and lead. It’s not about the hours you put in but the impact, and result I create during those hours. #Leadership #Productivity #TimeManagement #EffectiveLeadership #johnmasudparvez

  • To grow top line - which one is easier and cost-effective? Finding a new market or building a stronger middle manager team! How important are middle managers in the Beauty industry? Deloitte reported - poor middle management can lead to a 15% to 30% decline in customer satisfaction, which directly impacts revenue. Yes, developing middle managers is important, as this is one of the core bricks of the discipline people need to build up the workforce flywheel effect in the business. Wells L'Oréal implemented a strategy aimed at enhancing middle management. Despite implementing the programs, with revenue growth stagnated at 4% annually, below the industry average of 6%. Why did L’Oréal's middle management Training fail? When I analyzed we found these were the strategic mistakes of this initiative Lack of Alignment: The training was not aligned with the broader digital transformation goals, creating a disconnect. Generic Training: The program focused on generic management skills rather than specific industry challenges, making it less effective. Poor Feedback Integration: There was little adjustment based on participant feedback, leading to low engagement and minimal impact on performance. In a similar situation, another company Estée Lauder implemented successfully their strategy and invested 15 Million USD to build the workforce flywheel framework by preparing and developing their middle manager. This gave Estée Lauder outcomes like - 12% increase in sales growth over three years, significantly outperforming competitors. So we analyzed the strategic factors that made Estée Lauder successful in their middle manager development were Strategic Focus: The training was closely aligned with the company's emphasis on digital marketing and innovation, ensuring relevance and application. Tailored Approach: The program was customized to address specific market challenges and opportunities, leading to effective application in the workplace. Continuous Feedback Loop: Regular feedback from participants was used to refine and adapt the program, increasing engagement and effectiveness. P.S. • Did you know - Nearly 40% of executives struggle with performance Due to a lack of their inability to process feedback effectively? - Source: Harvard Business Review I once managed a direct report who was good in many ways, yet he struggled with taking feedback and turning it into actionable improvements. Despite his potential, his performance was stagnating because he couldn’t process feedback properly. Seeing this, I knew I had to act. I introduced a specific framework designed to help him not just hear feedback but truly internalize it and apply it to his work. Here's how the framework worked: Active Listening and Reflection: After receiving feedback, I encouraged him to take time to reflect on it rather than react immediately. For example, if the feedback was about improving communication skills, he would jot down key points and consider how his current approach might be falling short. Breaking Down Feedback into Actionable Steps: We then dissected the feedback together, turning general advice into specific, actionable steps. For instance, if the feedback was "Be more concise in meetings," we broke it down into "Limit presentations to 3 main points" and "Summarize thoughts in 2-3 sentences." Setting Measurable Goals: We established clear, measurable goals to track progress. For the communication example, a goal might be "Reduce meeting times by 15% over the next month," giving him something concrete to work towards. Regular Check-ins and Adjustments: We held weekly check-ins to discuss his progress and make any necessary adjustments. This kept the feedback loop continuous and ensured that the changes were effective and sustainable. This transformation helped him be more effective in his role. This experience reinforced a critical lesson: effective feedback processing isn’t just a soft skill; it’s a cornerstone of professional growth. Are you or your team struggling to process feedback effectively? Don’t let it hold you back. Embrace the power of structured feedback to unlock your full potential! #Leadership #Feedback #ProfessionalGrowth #PerformanceImprovement #johnmasudparvez

  • Have you ever witnessed a talented team member struggle in silence? What is stopping us from taking the right action? Time? Expertise? Recently, I encountered a situation where a team member was struggling to produce the desired results. A typical leader might have chosen to part ways with the individual by tagging 'Poor Performer', but as a leader, my job is to find out the behind the story. Upon deeper investigation, I discovered that this team member was navigating a challenging project without adequate support from their colleagues. It's a common scenario in team dynamics where influence, rather than authority, becomes crucial for progress. Instead of opting for the easy route, I focused on identifying the key obstacles they faced. I recognized the need for positive influence and collaboration skills in our team environment. 💡 Here's what we did: - Identified Obstacles: Understanding the specific challenges they were facing. - Positive Influence Coaching: I guided him on how to positively influence and engage with team members, even when not in a direct managerial role.
