♻️ SUNTORY PEPSICO VIETNAM ADVANCES CIRCULAR ECONOMY THROUGH COLLECTING & RECYCLE EDUCATION FOR INFORMAL WORKERS   🌍 Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam organized a workshop to enhance the waste collection and sorting skills of informal workers in Hanoi in partnership with VietCycle. This initiative is part of our commitment to reducing plastic waste, improving collection and recycling quality, and contributing to the circular economy in Vietnam.   📋 Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam’s sustainability strategy focuses on promoting sustainable packaging initiatives, enhancing collection and recycling efforts, thereby driving the circular economy. Recognizing the crucial role of education in raising awareness and changing behavior, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has implemented an educational program on waste collection and sorting, targeting informal workers and young consumers, especially students.   🌟 Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam highly values the role of informal sector who is currently collecting up to 30% plastic waste that is recyclable. 🌳 SUNTORY PEPSICO VIETNAM SIGNED STRATEGIC PUBLIC - PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP WITH MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE & RURAL DEVELOPMENT ON REFORESTATION PROGRAM AIMING TO WATER REPLENISHMENT AND CARBON OFFSET. 🌳 🎊 On July 11, 2024, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam and The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate in sustainable forest development, towards water replenishment and carbon offset. 👨💼 High-level Government officials attended the event included Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, former Permanent Deputy Minister of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ha Cong Tuan, Director of the Forestry Department Tran Quang Bao, leaders of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, representatives from various authorities, international organizations, NGOs, national parks across the country. 🤝 This partnership will bring the current reforestation program of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam to the next level, creating bigger impacts for the environment and communities through: 1️⃣  FOREST PLANTING - plant and enrich almost 250 hectares of forest in watershed and protective forest areas across the country, aiming to cultivate - replenish water and offset carbon 2️⃣ “MIZUIKU SEMESTER” PROGRAM - a Forest experience program to educate about water resources, biodiversity, and fostering a love for nature among students and national park visitors. 3️⃣ “NATIONAL PARK PASSPORT” Initiative: encouraging exploration of forests to raise awareness of forest protection and development.   💭 Mr. Jahanzeb Khan, General Director and CEO of Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, shared: "Through this strategic partnership, we not only level up the impact of our ongoing reforestation programs but also pursue multiple objectives, such as restoring and replenishing more than 100% of the water used in production at all our plants by 2050, contributing to carbon offset and improving livelihoods." 🌏 Guided by the core value of “Growing for Good,” Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam has continuously strived to build and promote initiatives aiming at giving back to nature, communities and society. 🌟 SUNTORY PEPSICO VIETNAM INAUGURES "HAPPY SCHOOL" IN NGHE AN🌟 On May 17, Suntory PepsiCo held the inauguration and handover ceremony of the facility renovation project at Huong Tien Kindergarten, Nghe An. The event was attended by leaders from Thanh Chuong district, Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district Department of Education and Training, teachers, students, partners of Suntory PepsiCo and our employees as volunteers. 🌱 At the ceremony, Suntory PepsiCo representatives handed over new facilities at Nhan Mai and Ban Muong schools, officially bringing the facilities into use, including new toilets, renovated classrooms and new handwashing sinks to ensure a safer learning environment for students. In addition, employees of Suntory PepsiCo as volunteers also organized tree planting activities, wall painting, and Mizuiku classes to help children raise awareness about environmental protection. 💖 The employee driven "Helping Hands" program has been launched with the theme "Happy School", aiming to renovate school facilities, and provide a better environment for young generations in underserved areas. Previously, the program raised nearly 500 million VND to repair and upgrade facilities at Huong Tien Kindergarten - which started construction last December 2023, in order to provide a better and safe learning environment for children.
