The Washington Post reported on a quest by David Rush ’07 to set as many Guinness World Records as possible. He now holds more than 181 world records — in everything from juggling blindfolded to balancing 101 toilet paper rolls on his head.

Generations of MIT students have attended lectures and movies in 26-100, but since 2018 they’ve embraced what’s become another quintessential experience just across the hall: picking up a banana in 26-110, now better known as the MIT Banana Lounge.

In class 2.737 (Mechatronics), the most powerful teaching tools include pen and paper: “Students have to be able to work out things on a piece of paper, and make sketches, and write down key calculations in order to be creative,” David Trumper says.

Yessenia Gomez has served as a police officer for nearly 20 years, eight of them with the MIT Police. “The most rewarding part of being a police officer, as cheesy as it may sound, is helping people,” she says.

HST grad student Sayo Eweje is developing new technologies for delivering RNA and protein therapies directly to the body’s cells. “There are so many challenges in treating disease where the bottleneck ultimately comes down to effective delivery,” he says.
