Do I Qualify?

To qualify for WIC, you must meet ALL four requirements below.

1. Fall into a category
   • Pregnant
   • Breastfeeding
   • Had a baby within the last six months
   • Have a child under the age of five
   • Experienced a pregnancy loss/termination
     
2. Live in California
   
3. Meet WIC income guidelines
   
4. Nutrition Risk
   “Nutrition risk” means that an individual has medical-based or dietary-based conditions. Examples of medical-based conditions include anemia (low blood levels), underweight, or history of poor pregnancy outcome. A dietary-based condition includes, for example, a poor diet.

We welcome military/working/migrant families, fathers, foster parents and legal guardians (e.g. grandparents) with eligible children. Families who receive Medi-Cal/Medicaid, CalFresh/SNAP, or CalWorks may qualify. Services are available to anyone who meets the program requirements regardless of immigration status, race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, or disability.
