Man arrested for vandalizing 4 churches in Gwinnett County, police say

A 41-year-old man faces a dozen charges in connection to the crimes.

BUFORD, Ga. — A man is behind bars after a string of vandalism at multiple churches in Gwinnett County, according to police.

On Tuesday, officers responded to several reports of property damage from local churches in the Buford area. Police obtained surveillance footage that captured a suspect, later identified as a 41-year-old man from Hoschton, using a tool to smash multiple windows at four different places of worship. It's unclear at this time which churches were targeted.

Police used Flock cameras in the area to locate the suspect's vehicle. He was taken into custody and booked into the Gwinnett County Jail. 

He is charged with four counts of vandalism to a place of worship, four counts of criminal damage to property in the second, and four counts of possession of tools for commission of a crime.
