ATLANTA — Usher says you “gotta let it burn.”

The R&B singer, who has strong Atlanta ties, will invest in Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurants across metro Atlanta, according to an announcement.

Usher is partnering with a franchise group helmed by Lawrence Kourie and Andrew Feghali. The first drive-thru restaurant will open in Conyers in July, Kourie told our partners at the Atlanta Business Chronicle. He didn’t disclose the other locations but said several are in the works.

“Dave’s Hot Chicken is some of the best hot chicken I’ve ever had,” Usher said in the announcement. “I’m excited to be involved with the brand.”

Los Angeles-based Dave's Hot Chicken said last August it would enter the Atlanta market with eight locations. The chain has enticed other celebrity investors, including rapper Drake.
