Police have charged a 28-year-old man after discovering thousands of cigarettes, weapons and cash inside his vehicle in Victoria's Wimmera region yesterday.
Officers pulled over the man at a fast-food restaurant car park on Dimboola Road in Horsham about 4.35pm, after receiving reports of a Toyota Prado allegedly driving erratically.
Police searched the vehicle and discovered more than 54,000 cigarettes, a large quantity of loose-leaf tobacco in vaccuum sealed bricks, a knife, a canister of capsicum spray along with a large quantity of cash.
A 28-year-old South Australian man has been charged with possessing tobacco products with the intention of defrauding revenue, possessing prohibited and controlled weapons and knowingly deal proceeds of crime.
He was bailed to appear before Horsham Magistrates' Court on July 29.
