Influencer slapped with fine after visiting protected Italian beach

A Dubai-based influencer was issued with a hefty fine of almost $2000, after filming herself visiting a protected beach in Sardinia, Italy.
The woman hired a dinghy and made her way onto the shores of Spiaggia Rosa, a beach on the island of Budelli famous for its pink sand, according to local media.
Authorities caught up with the woman, a Brazilian living in Dubai, after she posted a series of videos about the visit to her Instagram account.

The woman, who has around 35,000 followers, has since made her account, @Rogeriaguiadubai, private.
However, videos showing her visit to Spiaggia Rosa were quickly picked up by the Italian media sparking a public outcry of indignation.
In one of the videos, the woman describes the scene on the island as "wonderful". The video cuts to her footprints in the sand along with a soundtrack featuring Édith Piaf's La Vie en rose.
The video was published on the now private account, @Rogeriaguiadubai.

Local media suggested the woman had ignored warning buoys to reach her destination.

Australian city world's second most unaffordable
Tourists have been banned from walking on the beach for decades, after local authorities put protections in place in the 1990s in response to tourists pilfering sand.
However, visitors can visit the island by boat during the day and walk on a path behind the beach.
Officials with the La Maddalena Coast Guard issued the woman with a €1,800 fine, which included €300 for disobeying the ban and €1,500 for arriving on the island on an unauthorised vessel.
