The body of a man missing from a Far North Queensland waterfall has been found, following extensive searches over the weekend.
The 20-year-old was reported missing by friends at 1pm on Saturday afternoon, after he walked ahead of them at Emerald Creek Falls, in the Atherton Tablelands, and then disappeared from sight.
Land and aerial searches commenced in efforts to locate the man, continuing into Saturday night.
SES, specialist police and swift water rescue crews also assisted with the search, with the body of the man located by police divers in the falls around 4.15pm yesterday.
The surrounding Emerald Falls Road in Mareeba had been closed during the search but has since been reopened.
