Police investigate reported rape of Australian woman in Paris, French media say

Police are investigating an Australian tourist's complaint that she was raped by five men in the French capital of Paris, local media report.
According to the reports, the woman sought refuge in a kebab shop on Boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement about 5am on Saturday (1pm AEST) and workers there called police when they saw the state she was in.
The intoxicated woman reportedly told police she had been sexually assaulted by five men but could not give more details.

Her dress was inside out or the wrong way around and partially ripped, according to some reports.
The 25-year-old was taken to the nearby Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital.
Police from Alliance Paris say "several investigation techniques will be used along with technical and scientific police".
Some reports indicated the woman was set to return to Australia at the weekend or early this week but it was unclear if she had done so.
A spokesperson from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) told 9News.com.au that officials are ready to provide assistance.
"The Australian Embassy in Paris is making urgent enquiries with French authorities following reports of an Australian citizen assaulted in Paris," the spokesperson said.
"The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade stands ready to provide consular assistance."
