June 2024 Year-Over-Year Highlights
  • Bankruptcy filings including all chapters totaled 40,267, a 7% increase from the June 2023 total of 37,790.
  • Commercial chapter 11 filings increased 70 percent to 987 in June 2024 from the 582 filings recorded in June 2023.
  • Commercial filings were 2,753, a 28 percent increase in June 2024 compared to the 2,154 filed in June 2023.
  • Subchapter V small business elections increased 78 percent to 309 in June 2024 from the 174 filings last June.
  • Individual filings increased 5% to 37,514 in June 2024 from the 35,636 filed in April 2023.
