Overall, it was an acceptable week. Min-Kyu Kim cruised to a three-shot win in Korea at +3300 to cash our Asian Tour win.

We had other smaller sweats elsewhere, notably on PGA Tour Champions where Ken Tanigawa finished third behind Padraig Harrington.

With Asia off this week, there are still seven other events, including another major for the seniors.

Find my Global Golf Picks for the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic, U.S. Senior Open and Italian Open among the seven tournaments below.

  • Rocket Mortgage Classic — PGA Tour
  • Italian Open — DP World Tour
  • U.S. Senior Open — PGA Tour Champions

Global Golf Picks

Rocket Mortgage Classic — PGA Tour

Best Bet: Ryan Fox +5500 (FanDuel)

It's been a while since we've had a full-field event with most of the star power missing, but that's the case this week with Tom Kim as the headliner in Detroit.

I tend to go down the board in these events and sprinkle in more triple-digit long shots than I would during the Scheffler weeks, so I'll keep that strategy here.

I'm starting my card with Ryan Fox at the top. In recent years, some of the longer hitters have won at Detroit Golf Club such as Tony Finau, Bryson DeChambeau and Cam Davis. Fox has that length, and when the big guns have been gone, he's routinely placed in the top 10 with a pair of fourth-place finishes at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the Myrtle Beach Classic along with a seventh in Canada.

This should be a strong fit for him.

Other Rocket Mortgage Classic Bets:

  • Aaron Rai +4000
  • Sam Stevens +7000
  • Daniel Berger +9000
  • Chandler Phillips 120-1
  • Mac Meissner 120-1
  • Zac Blair 400-1

Italian Open — DP World Tour

Best Bet: Callum Hill +5000 (BetRivers)

We're off to Italy on the DP World Tour. The Italian Open features a different course this year after Marco Simone hosted the past few seasons in preparation for the Ryder Cup.

With no real history at the Adriatic Golf Club, we'll rely most on form, so that's where Callum Hill comes in this week.

He enters with three straight top 20s, including including a runner up at the Volvo Mixed. Luckily for Hill and the rest of the men, Linn Grant isn't in this field to play spoiler.

This is a bit of a deeper Euro field with Patrick Reed coming over from LIV Golf, but overall, I like Hill at the price given his play recently.

Other Italian Open Bets:

  • Johannes Veerman +5000
  • Matteo Manassero +6000
  • Andrea Pavan 100-1
  • Filippo Celli 200-1

U.S. Senior Open — PGA Tour Champions

Best Bet: Doug Barron +4000 (BetRivers)

The national championship for the 50+ crowd is this week. LIV Golf's Richard Bland won the last major, and Lee Westwood now joins him in the field this week as Westwood makes his senior debut.

Consequently, it'll be tough with those two added to the top, plus Padraig Harrington is fresh off a win.

With those guys at the top, the betting board features much bigger numbers on the usual seniors. Doug Barron tops my list this week after we already hit him at one major this year at the Regions Tradition. The form hasn't really dipped either since he's finished fourth and 10th in the top events leading in, and he only has one finish outside the top 12 in six starts.

It's loaded at the top of the board, but Barron has held his own with the other top guys all year.

Other U.S. Senior Open Bets:

  • Mike Weir +5000
  • Mark Hensby +6600
  • Ken Tanigawa +8000

Dow Championship — LPGA

Best Bet: Mao Saigo & Yu-Jin Sung +2500 (bet365)

Most of the books didn't bother with the LPGA team event.

This is their version of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour where golfers play alternating rounds of best ball and alternate shot.

I try to evaluate the players I would want to bet individually given their usual odds range, and the only team where both players made my list was Mao Saigo and Yu-Jin Sung. I've been betting Sung the past few weeks as a long shot, so I was hoping she'd stay under the radar here a bit.

But the pairing with Saigo was enough to catch my attention.

Saigo is fresh off a seventh at the Women's PGA Championship and has made the cut in six of seven events. Both players are trending in the right direction, which is important because these teams can scrap by in best ball if someone is playing poorly.

However, in the alternate shot, we want both players on their game, and this team provides the best price for a pair who are really in form.

Other Dow Championship Bets:

  • Nanna Koerstz Madsen & Nichole Broch Estrup +4000

Memorial Health Championship — Korn Ferry Tour

Best Bet: Mitchell Meissner +4000 (BetRivers)

The Korn Ferry Tour heads to one of its easier stops at Panther Creek in Illinois.

This event was won at 26-under par last year and 27-under par the two seasons prior, so guys will need 30 birdies this week to have any sort of chance.

I'll go with Mitchell Meissner here at this price range. He wasn't at his best last week but still made the cut. Prior to that, he had four straight top 20s.

In the end, it's going to come down to the hot putter as always this week, and that's tough to project. However, he's among the top 35 on the Korn Ferry Tour in Greens in Regulation, Putting and Birdies, so he gives himself plenty of chances and coverts a decent number.

Other Memorial Health Championship Bets:

  • Jackson Suber +5000
  • Pontus Nyholm  +6600
  • Seth Reeves +7000

Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge — Challenge Tour

Best Bet: Borja Virto +5000 (BetRivers)

It's the second week in France for the Challenge Tour.

This week, I'll highlight the Spaniard Borja Virto. He's is a Challenge Tour vet and has spent most of the past decade on this tour.

He has two wins, but they were back in 2015 when it looked like he was a surefire Euro Tour player. Since then things have stalled out, but he's always maintained status here.

He has as much experience at this event as anyone after playing six times and finishing in the top 25 on five occasions. He's got a third here back in 2018 and was 17th a year ago.

Current form is solid as well, since he's finished 13th or better in three of his last four starts, including a fifth in France last week.

Other Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge Bets:

  • Pierre Pineau +4500
  • Oliver Lindell +6000
  • Benjamin Schmidt +8000
  • Tomas Gouveia 175-1

Swiss Ladies Open — Ladies European Tour

Best Bet: Chloe Williams +3000 (bet365)

We'll wrap up the week in Switzerland with the Ladies Euro Tour.

It's a bit of a tough board with the pricing at the top since there are 13 players listed at +2500 or shorter at bet365. For comparison, the PGA Tour has just five golfers at 25-1 or shorter for the Rocket Mortgage Classic on that same book.

With the books pretty much chopping the odds on anyone playing well, I'll take a flier on Chloe Williams here. She hasn't been in great form, but things clicked last week when she placed third.

That's a great sign leading into an event where she's had success. She's been inside the top 15 in three of the past four seasons here, including third last year.

Other Swiss Ladies Open Bets:

  • Patricia-Isabel Schmidt +7500
  • Alexandra Swayne 125-1
  • Tiffany Arafi 140-1
