Updated NASCAR weather for Sunday's Ally 400 (3:30 p.m. ET, NBC) is showing a scorcher at Nashville Superspeedway.

Temperatures in the low-90s and a heat index as high as 99 are possible this afternoon at Nashville.

In addition, rain is in the updated NASCAR weather forecast for Sunday, which could result in a race delay for the second straight week.

With that said, the weather doesn't look terrible either, and as is typically the case, it's the timing of the rain that will determine whether NASCAR is forced to delay today's Ally 400.

Let's dig into the last NASCAR weather for Nashville, including when the rain is expected to fall ahead of Sunday's Cup Series race.

NASCAR Weather for Nashville

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 60% chance of rain at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday, but as I just mentioned, the hourly breakdown does offer some optimism.

There's a 43% chance of rain around Sunday's scheduled green flag, which then drops to 17% just two hours later.

Should the forecast worsen and force NASCAR to delay the start of the Ally 400, Nashville Superspeedway does have lights, so there should be plenty of time to wait out the rain, dry the track and get Sunday's race completed.

And just in case the weather is uglier than expected, the race will be official once lap 150 of the scheduled 300 laps is completed.

Denny Hamlin (+350) is the race favorite according to live NASCAR odds, followed by Kyle Larson (+375), Martin Truex Jr. (+700) and Christopher Bell (+750) at bet365.

And for those wondering, here is our NASCAR best bet pick for Sunday's Ally 400.
