Important Jets Betting Stats

The Jets' quarterback room has two signal callers who've been very kind to bettors throughout their careers.

Rodgers is one of the most prolific QBs to bet in NFL history. Most elite quarterbacks are closer to .500 against the spread, but not Rodgers. He enters his age-41 season at 140-100-5 against the spread, according to Action Network's Evan Abrams.

If Rodgers misses any time, bettors won’t be hesitant to back Tyrod Taylor based on his 34-21-4 career ATS record.

Robert Saleh, though, has been one of the easiest coaches to fade since he started with the Jets. Entering his fourth season as an NFL head coach, Saleh is 21-29 ATS.

Jets' Season Depends on Rodgers

The Jets have a fascinating team ahead of the NFL season, with aging quarterback Rodgers recovering from an Achilles injury and entering his age-41 season.

The question on many fans' and bettors' minds: Can Rodgers regain his old form in the jet green and white?

Back in 2022, which was Rodgers’ last season as a starter, his yards-per-attempt rate dropped to 6.8 compared to a career mark of 7.7.

Now, after suffering such a brutal injury and missing an entire season, questions are reasonably being asked about whether he can lead the Jets to the promised land.

Action Network’s Sean Koerner is optimistic about Rodgers’ 2024 outlook, projecting a yards-per-attempt increase to about 7.3. Koerner sees an improved Jets offensive line to go with a promising group of pass catchers, highlighted by wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams.

On the other hand, Chris Raybon takes a more conservative stance, expecting Rodgers' performance to be closer to his last season at Green Bay, estimating a yards per attempt slightly under seven.

Raybon is influenced by Father Time inevitably catching up to all quarterbacks and is also taking into account an expected decline in yards per attempt and touchdown rate.

Also helping Rodgers will be a strong defense and running game led by Breece Hall, which could limit the need for Rodgers to be especially aggressive in the passing game.

New York Jets Betting Outlook

We know the Jets' defense is good, but it’s difficult to predict this season for New York until we know more about what to expect from Rodgers.

However, both optimists and pessimists will find ways to bet the Jets this season.

A conservative approach may favor fading Rodgers’ season-long player props, while more optimistic bettors may want to invest in the Jets as a team moving forward.

Regardless of how you feel about Rodgers, his return will determine how the Jets fare this season. It’s easy to figure out how you’ll bet this team based on that.

If you don’t feel strongly either way to start the season, treading with caution would be the right way to go.

2024 Jets Schedule Info

The Jets will face the 19th-hardest schedule in the NFL this season, according to Koerner. Within the AFC East, the Patriots have the hardest schedule in the NFL, while the Bills rank seventh and the Dolphins are tied for 11th.

New York's Week 1 Odds & Matchup

For a second straight season, the Jets will open the season on primetime in Monday Night Football.

Last year, it was at home against the Bills, but they’ll be further from home to kick off their 2024 campaign.

New York is a 5.5-point underdog on the road against the 49ers with a 44.5 total. The Jets famously won in Week 1 last season, but it was at the expense of Rodgers tearing his Achilles.
