Film and Documentary Historical Photograph Licensing

Alcatraz History has a catalog of more than 1,000 historical photographs related to Alcatraz Island, available in high-resolution formats for licensing in film and documentary broadcast projects. The majority of images in our catalog are not featured on this website. Our image collection has been carefully selected from some of the best quality generation negatives, slides and news prints that chronicle the history of Alcatraz Island. Included are both some of the most rare and well known historical photographs scanned directly from the original FBI, Bureau of Prisons, National Archives, Library of Congress, National Press, State and Private Archive Collections. Photos from our collection have appeared in numerous film and television documentaries appearing on National Geographic, Discovery, Travel, the History Channel, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and a variety of other major networks.

For more information, please contact us at the email address below and include the name of your production company, the project name and the specific collections that are of interest. We only respond to serious inquiries and to email addresses associated with the production group.
