TL;DR:

TL;DR:

A non-greasy makeup remover that efficiently melts away waterproof mascara while leaving skin hydrated and velvety soft

I've lost count of the number of times I've: eaten my favorite food (an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and pastrami lox), seen one of my favorite K-pop groups (ATEEZ) live, and replenished my favorite skin-care product (the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm).

The latter just won a 2019 Best of Beauty Award, so I feel compelled to show some love for the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm.

Ever since its launch in October 2018, I haven't used anything else to melt away my makeup. Even when I travel, I fill up a mini jar with the stuff because I can't bear to remove waterproof mascara with anything else.

Sometimes, my nightly skin-care routine feels like a chore. The thought of taking off all my makeup and going through all the countless steps of my regime adds to my exhaustion at the end of the day. Dipping into the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm's periwinkle jar with its special spatula brings me excitement, though — almost as much as whenever I eat that bagel or when ATEEZ performs "Hala Hala."

The golden yellow balm that lies inside has an invigorating $10 bottle of cold-pressed grapefruit juice that propels me into the rest of my routine. Plus, the way it transforms into a rich cream as you slather it onto dry skin feels like the ultimate indulgence after a long day. Unlike other cleansing balms I've tried, this one doesn't feel heavy or overly greasy on skin.

Typically, I start rubbing the balm onto my cheeks first. Then, I work my way around my face before focusing on my eyes. To make sure the elixir of antioxidant-rich seaberry oil, healing vitamin E, and nourishing olive and grapeseed oils takes off every speck of mascara from my lashes, I sweep and wiggle my index finger through them like a spoolie. I don't know when I started doing that, but I swear it works every time. By the time I rinse away the balm, it's like I never wore makeup at all that day. My face looks clear, fresh, and bright afterward.

Even if you don't wear makeup, the cleansing balm is still helpful for breaking down sunscreen and balancing out oily skin. For those with dry skin, the oil-spiked formula gives your skin-care routine another hydrating step. And no matter what your makeup routine or complexion concerns are, you'll be sure to be left with velvety soft skin without a hint of greasiness.
