Plucking your brows with an old, dull pair of tweezers can be as futile as trying to thread a needle with frayed thread. Trying to tug on any hair, fine or thick, can be incredibly frustrating. Well, don't say goodbye to your beloved tweezers and buy a new pair hasn't just yet, because someone on the SkincareAddiction subreddit shared a hack she discovered while surfing the world wide web.

"My long-standing, favorite, would-cry-if-I-lost-them tweezers have recently become dull and won't grab fine hairs," Giraffee125 wrote on a recent thread. "After a quick Google search, I found a few articles that recommended using a nail file to rub against the grippy side of the tweezers, and IT WORKED. It was so easy, and now my tweezers are back in business!" And she's not being the least bit facetious. She tells Allure, "It works like a charm."

Reading Giraffee125's thread was like having an epiphany. Like this winged liner trick, this genius yet simple hack has been hiding in plain sight all along. In the words of Splootella, who replied to Giraffee125's thread, "Now I'm questioning if the money I spent on 'high-quality' tweezers was wasted when my old totally-not-any-brand-at-all generic ones only ever needed a sharpening."

If you happen to have sandpaper lying around, that will work with this trick, too. A user called DorothyZbornak wrote on the tread, "Just fold the sandpaper to make it double-sided, close the tweezers around it, and pull." Noted. I'm not much of a carpenter, but I'm keeping this trick in mind, too.
