From playing your favourite songs to discovering new artists, Alexa can help you get the most out of your Spotify experience.
Set Spotify as your default streaming service
Now that you’ve linked your account with Alexa, you can also set Spotify up as your default music provider to ensure that your music streams straight from Spotify every time.
To set a default music provider:
Open the Alexa app
Select More and then Settings
Select Music and Podcasts and then Default Services

Personalise your listening experience

Things to know
Play music direct from the app: You can cast direct to your Echo Devices through the Spotify app on your phone. Simply click the devices icon and select your device or speaker group.
Explicit language filtering: You can use the Alexa app to filter out songs that are unsuitable for young ears. Simply head to the Alexa app and select More and select Settings. Select Music & Podcasts and then Explicit Language Filter. Switch the feature on.
Stream friends and artists’ personal playlists: You can stream personal playlists other than your own, (e.g. triple j’s Hottest 100 playlist) simply by ‘liking’ them in the Spotify app. This will add them to your personal playlist sync, ready to be listened to with Alexa.
