Cons:. Would like to have a Velcro patch on front, but I can glue one on.
It's a gr8 bag!
2. Comfortability: I have not gotten the chance to wear this bag hours at a time, but the multiple points of adjustability in the shoulder straps havent left me in discomfort as of yet. The waist strap is comfortable and of good size. Im 240 pounds and it fits just fine with strap left over for even larger folk.
3. Durability: Ive not had any issues with the zippers or straps. This bag is loaded out pretty fully right now and ive not had the same trouble ive read in other reviews. Others have complained about the zipper getting stuck in the material and this only happens if your dumb enough to zip it without moving the rain flap away from the zipper as you go. The pack material seems to be durable for your everyday kind of use, but remember its lightweight so i wouldnt suggest throwing it onto the ground on a regular basis. The bag seems to be able to last if you take care to not treat it like an army canvas rucksack.
4: Waterproofing: I was in a medium rain for only about 7 minutes with the pack, water did soak into the material slightly, but nothing inside got wet. Im convinced that a higher volume of rain or being in it longer would have seen water penetration. Id say its water resistive, but not waterproof, However I was not using the included poncho for the bag. If id used this, id see no way that water would be penetration into the bag.
5: Aesthetics: The color does appear as advertised for the dark green version.
6: Bonus: An orange alert whistle in included in the chest strap, something i didn't see advertised. Its quite ear piercing, however i havent tested it in the woods yet so im not sure how far the sound carriers.
Overall: If this bag breaks later down the road, id be glad to purchase another one as long as i get a few years out of it.
I live in the desert and wanted a pack which was in-between the size of my 1 pound bladder day pack and my RT35 which is about a pound heavier than this one is.
I, first, found 18 different packs which were close to having all that I wanted in a pack.
Had to have a pouch (with a hole letting the hose out) for a water bladder (AND a 3 liter one at that).
Had to be around 2 pounds.
Had to have a separate area for sleeping bag that could be zipped out if I wanted it to.
Had to have a waist belt
Had to be able to strap things on the outside (also wanted it to be able to strap something on the top
Had to be rated at least 4.5 on Amazon
etc.
In the end I narrowed it down to 3.
The 4.8 rating on this bag was one of the clinchers. You just can't get a 4.8 rating on anything from 29 people unless it is an amazing product.
The only things I wanted, which I added afterwards, were two D rings on the sides so I could use bunji cords to strap things like a sleeping pad or such on the bag. The four rather useless tie points are put in weird places (and they don't even give you an example photo of what they're expecting you to do with them.
Because of the 45 degree angle on the bottom tie points, I'd assume that they're expecting that you'll criss-cross connect between the lower ones and the upper ones in an X fashion. If you do that, however, there isn't much that you'll be able to add to the pack in that fashion.
Instead, I cut four 2 inch pieces of 1" orange webbing, sewed them around in a square through a plastic D ring and sewed two right in the middle between the two right and two left tie points along the edge nearest my body. I sewed the thread right through the inside rubber edge rope that runs around the inside to give it stability.
Then I sewed two more at 45 degree angles along the same edge right up at the top where the handle meets the pack so I can bunji cord between that corner and the lower tie points.
Works out well that way.
Some of the things I love about this pack are...
The weight. Hard to weigh it on my scale; but it seems like it's about 2.3 pounds even after my modifications. Not much way you can get lighter than that.
Love the hip belt and the way it sits on my back. It distributes the weight well between the shoulder straps and the hip belt.
The water bladder has no upper hanging hook; but it doesn't seem to NEED one (even though I did make one for it by sewing on a length of very thin webbing, then making a U-shaped hook out of brass flat hobby material that I had. Pop-riveted two pop rivets into the webbing and then filed down the pop rivets round and covered them with silicon. Works well; but really wasn't needed.
Also sewed two very thin nylon loops that have a grommet in them along the inside back edge of the largest opening. Then I looped a carbiner clip through them to hold two flashlights which I push down in beside the water bladder.
Finally, I put a hook with a finger-clasp in the center along with the strap that holds the water bladder to snap my key ring onto.
Besides those modifications; it is a perfect super-ultralight pack for super-ultralight camping.
I use a compression sack to compress a SnugPak Traveler sleeping bag, An SOL breathable and an SOL breathable lite and my MSR tent bivy without poles or fly and that all fits into the sleeping bag compartment.
Then, I stuff my cooking kit, a rain coat, sliding the tent poles down through a partially unzipped partition between the bottom area and the top. Food, plenty of room for other things (I can stuff my full Patagonia coat inside along with everything else). Then, I strap the air mattress on the bottom two straps and love how it sits upright when I place it on the ground.
Just love it.

the inside has loads of room for all your bits and bobs. I brought outfits for the 4 days along with a lot of my camping accessories such as lamps sleeping pillow and that sort of thing inside of the bag and filled the bottom compartment with a copious amount of drink and was honestly surprised with just how much stuff I fit into the bag.
I also used the bottom straps to strap a two person inflatable mattress to which is weirdly heavy but then again it is quite large and I used one of the side straps to hold my camping chairs. I tied a sleeping bag onto the side of it too and also strapped a full 5 man tent to the front of the bag. it was a crazy amount of stuff really.
I was honestly worried that the weight might break the bag or cause the straps to break but it held up incredibly well which I was honestly surprised about as the bag was that heavy it was a struggle to lift of the ground and for reference I am a 20 year old male who is reasonably fit.
my only gripe with the bag is comfort and now this is more likely due to the amount of gear I was carrying and the weight but I felt it could've had more padding on the shoulders and back as after the long walk with it I was a little sore but then again most likely due to the weight I was carrying and not the bag.
I can't really fault this bag in any other respect it worked amazing for my purpose and would highly recommend it to anyone.
