I got this because I got tired of going into a dusty insulation filled attic and coughing for the next 3 hours afterward. I have used it for that and other home projects that produce a lot of small particles (tile & wood cutting). It's been great. I wear it kind of tight on purpose with no trouble breathing -and it filters out the dust.
I removed a cast iron tub by cutting it into pieces which produced a lot of fine black dust. The filters (bought separately, but 3m filters) did a great job of keeping that out of my lungs. No breathing irritation and no fogging of the eye protection either.
I would recommend wiping out the inside from time to time with an alcohol swab, air drying or thoroughly wiping it out with a clean rag. It gets moist on the inside when in use, so when you put it away you want it to be as dry as possible.
