Royal Spa
They did not come out as it happened over the phone. The control panel on top of the bath tub was going out so we had a problem with the thermostat. I talked to a lady over the phone to fix it. Whenever I called I got the recording that said that they couldn't get to me just to put a heater inside. The lady finally called me back when I was at work and left a message and I called her back and left a message and it went on for a couple of days. She was pretty decent

The opening service was fine, but it's the follow-up afterward that was not. Upon evaluating my pool system when opening the pool, the servicemen suggested a particular brand of new pool pump to have them install because of the ease in obtaining parts/service should I ever need it in the future. The service manager, Pam, subsequently sent me an estimate on June 13th, but not with the type of pump the guys recommended. I asked her to please revise the quote with the specific brand of pump they recommended. She never got back with me. Then, strangely enough weeks later on July 10th, she sent a note asking me how my pool was doing. I replied that I never received any type of estimate from her with the specific brand the guys wanted to install and I even attached the original note I had sent on June 13th requesting an estimate for the pump, giving her another opportunity to provide an estimate. I have never heard back from her ever since. That was nearly a month ago. Also, the guys put putty into two skimmers to repair some cracks. To my knowledge, they have never stopped by again to check and make sure the putty was successful. In my opinion, it would seem that this should be a reasonable thing to do, especially since they're in the area quite frequently. Their invoice also does not list the specific type and amount of chemicals they added to the pool; it would seem important information to automatically include so that the pool-owner knows exactly what was done. I would possibly consider using them in the future, but only if they have a renewed commitment to good customer service and responsiveness. Perhaps they don't need or want the business. Thank you

Palisades Pool Service
We have used Troy for many years. This year we had to replace the concrete on one side of the pool. Troy worked with our concrete company to insure that the new concrete was done properly. Once the old concrete was removed, the pool moved slightly. He secured it back in place and then made sure that all metal parts were properly grounded. He instructed the contractor on how to properly pour the concrete so that the inlaid track cover would be level. He is knowledgeable and professional - a pleasure to work with

Ron's Pool Repair
Our experience with him so far has been very good otherwise we wouldn't still be talking with him. He has a very fine reputation among other pool providers in the community. He has been willing to work with neighborhood association and all of those things have played into it. He was excellent. He was very responsive. I have not deal with him first hand the President of our pool association or home owners association has been the one that has dealt with him and I have just been part of the record keeping and other decision making. I have not met with him, I am on board and we have all discussed it and I have checked out his credentials and met with other providers to compare prices

Contractor was very responsive, his prices were very fair and open, he completed the work on as fast a schedule as the rainy season would allow (about 2 to 3 weeks of which it rained about 75% of the days and made the ground very wet throughout), and he did a very nice job - including cleanup (which I place great value on because it allows a job to look and feel finished). I have a lot of confidence in his ability, knowledge and professionalism. I work with a lot of service providers, we have a large and expensive home, and he takes great care to do a complete, high quality, timely and honest job. I wish all of my service providers had his professionalism and attitude. Now that I have gotten to know him, I intend to consolidate as much work as I can with him such as plumbing, windows, handyman, pool, repairs and anything else he feels is within his area of competence. I have also referred a few of my friends and colleagues to him for work

BARTON POOL COMPANY, LLC
I have an old (circa 1960s) gunnite pool that had delaminated plaster, crumbling coping and a non-functioning 40 year old heater. It is hard to find a company that performs replastering work as most companies that I called seemed to only repair vinyl-lined pools or install a vinyl liner. This was not an option for us. I called 4 local pool replastering contractors to obtain quotes. One never bothered to return my calls. Another kept missing our scheduled appointment and ghosting me but finally showed up to take measurements (wearing a MAGA hat) but then never delivered a quote. The third kept the appointment and seemed very knowledgeable but the quote was much higher than expected and the work could not be performed until August (7 months later). Then I received a call back from Eric at Barton. He was knowledgeable and professional. The quoted price was reasonable and then he promised they could get me on the schedule for February or March. Too good to be true? No! Eric and Barton delivered on everything promised and we could not be happier with the end result! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Barton to anyone needing pool repairs or service. This should be your first call

Called 3 companies for pool repair on the same evening after hours calls. Left messages for all 3. Following day received a call from SHS and they schedule me for service on Sat. At 10am according to the girl from the office. Only day they could come and was 4 days after initial call. Explained they were booked during week doing pool cleaning. The Sat appt. was OK. One other company called and after explaining the repair needed they said they would check the techs to see if they could make this type of repair....never heard back from them. On Sat. At 10:15a received call from Elden explaining he was installing a heater at another appt. and would not be able to come until Sat. Afternoon. Unable to accommodate his schedule Sat. Afternoon, but he apologized and said he could come on Sun. At approx. 11am. I called Sun to confirm and Elden called back said he would be at my home in about 45 min. He arrived and began work very hard to figure out the problem. He spent at least an hour troubleshooting the issue. He had just deinstalled a heater just like mine and when he could not get mine going offered to switch out the burner tray from old heater which included the gas valve which he thought was defective on my unit for just the cost of the labor. We agreed to try it and right before installing he look things over again and found a wire which was a little lose and after securing tried to fire up the heater again and it worked. Will use this company again

Now we can spend more time having fun with our "pool-dogs"; Mac (our 7 yr old golden) even has his own raft to relax on. BARTON POOL COMPANY, LLC
We decided to use Barton’s Pools because my father is friends with the owner Jeff’s dad, and we wanted to support his business. They were quick to come out and open the pool and did a decent job, however as the technicians were leaving I noticed that the pool pump wasn’t keeping primed. I made a call to the office and spoke with Kris who was very helpful and had a different tech come out right away and get it working properly. They were not able to vacuum the pool at the time of opening (which I understand), so they were supposed to vacuum during their first visit of weekly service. On the day of our first weekly service (which runs either $50 or $80 per week), the tech still hadn’t been out to service the pool by nearly 5pm. We knew we had to leave the house, so we called to make sure they were actually coming. Amanda was very polite and assured my wife that we were on the schedule and that “someone would be coming”. Later that night when we got home, the pool had NOT been vacuumed, and there was zero indication that anyone had been out to service it. We were very disappointed to say the least. The next morning I called Jeff the owner (big mistake) to see if perhaps they had moved us to Saturday, and it became immediately clear that the owner does not like to deal with customers directly. He was defensive, condescending, and dismissive of my questions. He said that someone DID come out the night before, but that “vacuuming wasn’t on the work order”. He seemed to deflect the real concerns I had back on to me. It was a very weird conversation. I then texted him asking were the tech had left the summary page of what he did when he came, what the pool readings were, etc. and he never responded back. We installed cameras this weekend on the back deck and garage area, so I can have a record of who and when has come for service, but it won’t be Barton’s Pools. In summary, we will not be using Barton’s Pool for ANYTHING in the future. It’s very clear that the make enough revenue from building pools, commercial contracts, and pool repairs that providing good maintenance service to residential customers is at the very bottom of their list. Despite my disappointment with Barton’s Pools, the one saving grace was how polite and helpful both Amanda and Kris were any time I called. They were both very professional and courteous in every interaction I had with them. It’s a good thing they are the ones on the front lines doing the scheduling and the customer interaction because they are both very good with customers unlike the owner. I do not recommend Barton’s Pools for any other service other than opening, and even then I’d make sure everything was in working order before they leave. I also wish I would’ve read all the reviews on Google and elsewhere before giving them my business, as it’s clear the any of the issues with this company are coming from the top down

Angie's Pool & Spa Inc
On the advice of previous owners, We had been using Angie's Pool and Spa to care for our inground pool since we moved into our home in 2003. We purchased pool chemicals and had them close out pool professionally every year, 10 + years. In 2012, we had then replace our Vinyl Liner and install a new Light fixture. The first season, everything went off without a hitch. In October, 2013, after the second season with the new liner and light, just a day or two after our pool closing, we noticed we were losing water. Angie's came out and reported they suspected a leak in the light fixture. When we protested this didn't ring true, we asked for further testing and we were told it was too late in the season to get a diver to come and inspect the pool. Repairs would have to wait for spring. As the winter progressed, we were concerned for our new liner and fixture as water continued to leak al winter long. Angie insisted the liner would be ok and if it wasn't or needed reset, she would and quot;take care of it.and quot; Afterall,we were good longstanding customers. Finally, spring arrived to 2014 and an empty pool. The liner had indeed floated but we relied on her word to fix it as the leak detection started. Rather than provide leak detection, she had her crew bust up the concrete and dig out the light fixture and replace a conduit. Then the problems really began. DEspite adding water without resetting the liner, the pool continued to leak. finally, she referred us to an independent contractor who reports the problem is a pipe connected to the bottom drain. Rather than at least work with us to repair the hole in the concrete for a light fixture that did not leak, Angie and her husband Paul became nasty. At one point, Angie called my husband a terrorist because he was calling to gain information about how to proceed and wanted to know how Angie's would plan to repair the hole in our concrete where they had excavated a light which did not leak. To add insult to injury, we recieved a bill for 488.00 for the labor to tear out the light fixture and an estimate of 1500.00-1700.00 to reset the liner. Missing from her estimate was information about how/when or how much it would cost to repiar the hole in the concrete around the light fixture. Also missing was any information or reccomendations about how to repair the actual leak. At a loss as to what to do with all of this, I have had to file a complaint with the BBB. After this complaint was filed, Angie did indeed email me that she was writing off the charges for the and quot;light fixture repairand quot; and setting our account balance at 0.00. She also informed us that WE had been rude to HER and asked that we take our business elsewhere
