Despite some doubters who still claim not to know what Kim Kardashian West is famous for, it seems clear that the reality star/executive producer/beauty mogul has found her true calling when it comes to phone apps. Her first, the Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game, made more than $100 million in its first year, and others, including a Kim-themed emoji app and a personal blog (which sisters Kourtney, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie all also adopted, posting articles to their own apps that suit their individual personalities), have also been wildly successful and lucrative. So, it should come as no surprise that Kardashian is in demand as an app advisor. Her latest, ScreenShop, an application with one million users that scans photos and curates links to similar products, launched in November 2017 and thus far was strictly geared towards clothing. However, beginning today, the app has expanded in to home furnishings. Simply upload an inspirational image—we have a few suggestions—and a shoppable catalogue of similar products at a variety of price points will appear. It's a Pinterest lover's dream. Or, if you're like Kim, who, as we spoke on the phone, searched through folders of images to find an Aspen house she particularly loved, you can organize your wish list more efficiently.
Mrs. West is certainly not personally searching for a bargain-basement version of the Jean Royère couch she and husband Kanye West are obsessed with (and already have), but she lives to serve those who strive to live like her. Or perhaps her sisters could use ScreenShop to copy the famously white Axel Vervoordt–designed West home (something all are guilty of on multiple episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians)—though that might be difficult since the AD100 designer custom-built their entire house, including wall plaster that Kim says she could never replicate. Below, we ask Kardashian whether she will go into the furniture business, her nursery decor, and, yes, finally get an answer to how she cleans all of those white furnishings.

Architectural Digest: Your fans obviously love your style, and that probably includes home decor. What images are you using for inspiration?
Kim Kardashian West: I’m obsessed with decor these days. I feel like I’ve learned so much about architecture, about design, about furniture in the last, like, two years, and it’s like my passion right now. I love to look on 1stdibs for furniture. I pulled up this picture of this Aspen house that was so beautiful and all light wood and light colors, which is kind of like what my current house is like. I pulled up this Royère couch and the two polar bear chairs and some wood chairs and a little Royère stool. There’s this amazing [Pierre] Jeanneret sofa and this Le Corbusier lamp that I have, so, even for fun, I take pieces of mine and I’ll screenshot it to see what else is out there that’s similar. Especially other things that might be more affordable to other people.
AD: Everyone knows your home is all white. How do you keep it clean with kids?!
KKW: Oh, my God. I run around the house with towels. You do have to just take a deep breath and say, "Okay, it’s going to happen. We decided to have lighter colors." Our last house that we just moved out of was all grays, which was a good test, because we knew we were going to move into a lighter house. We have a great playroom, and that’s where all the markers and the paints and the colors are and I really overdo it in the playroom so that by the time they’re done there they have no desire to take a pen on a nice piece of furniture. Everything in the house is Axel Vervoordt furniture and he uses these linen fabrics that we can easily clean. All of Axel’s pieces are rounded; there’s no sharp edges, our tables are rounded. Last time, when we were trying to figure it out, we tried to not baby-proof, but at some point you have to get the coffee table edges. We decided we wanted a house that didn’t need baby-proofing. One time I walked in and my daughter had purple nail polish all over her little kid’s vanity, all over her toys, and all over the walls, and I had just left the room for not even five minutes. It was at our last house, so I might flip out now because Axel made our walls with this material that’s like, not a Venetian plaster but some kind of plaster from Belgium. At the end of the day, you just have to take a deep breath and figure it out.
AD: Speaking of baby-proofing, you and Kanye recently welcomed a new daughter, Chicago West. What does her nursery look like?
KKW: I'm pretty much using the same crib and everything that I had for our other kids. We have a Vetro Lucite crib and we have a Royère bed in there and a really fluffy cream rug. We had a changing table made. I have a glider with an ottoman for feeding. With the first baby, I had a rocking chair, and I just love a glider so much more—you can move easier. Everything in the house is light colors and woods and soft and natural colors.
AD: Since furniture has become your passion, would you ever consider designing any home decor items?
KKW: I would love to. I love ScreenShop because I remember with my first apartment, or when we were in college, when you’re trying to find some cool furniture and you just don’t know where to go or what to do. It’s so cool that you can screenshot something and figure out where to get it and have so many options. I think it’s going to be really helpful for so many people. My husband makes all of his own furniture in his office. My office is all Vincent Van Duysen, but Kanye is so good at it, he loves to draw out pieces. Axel made a couch in our house called the "Kanye couch" because Kanye designed it with him. I don’t know if I would personally do it, though I would love to. It’s not in the cards.
